This course will
fulfill the Federal
Aviation Administration's requirements that all criminal justice
personnel who must fly in a commercial aircraft while armed must
undergo training in the proper procedures for flying armed (Revised 2007). While flying armed, the Law Enforcement Officer will be able to demonstrate the ability to successfully operate in the aviation domain in accordance with Title 49 CFR 1544.219 and 1544.221. |

Students

This
course
is comprised of one training
module. |

| Requirements: |
Students must
read the
material contained
in training module. After the student has read the material in the
module, he must take the module quiz. In order to successfully complete
the module quiz, the student must score 70%. The student will be given
two opportunities to successfully complete the quiz. At the director's
discretion, a third opportunity may be granted upon the request of the
student's chief, sheriff or agency administrator. |

This course meets the Federal
Aviation
Administration training
requirements for law enforcement officers who must fly armed in the
performance of their duties as revised in 2007. This course does
not meet the length requirement to qualify for DCJS
in-service credit. The training objective are as follows: - Identify the regulations pertaining to law enforcement officers flying armed. - Demonstrate the proper handling of firearms and self defense weapons as they relate to the aircraft environment. - Identify proper conduct in the airport environment and onboard the aircraft.
