| Introduction: |
This
course is comprised of two training modules. Module 1 contains several
narrated classes. The
modules in this course are designed to be taken in a designated order
since Module 2 - Net Detective builds on the knowledge and skills that
were presented in Module 1. The designers of this course
recommend
that students be awarded 2 hours of career
development in-service training
credit and be re-certified as firearms instructors for successfully
completing this course. |

| Requirements: |
Students must
read or listen to the
material contained in each training module. After the student has read
the material in the
module, he must take the module quiz. In order to successfully complete
the module quiz, the student must score 70%. The student will be given
two opportunities to successfully complete the quiz. At the director's
discretion, a third opportunity may be granted upon the request of the
student's chief, sheriff or agency administrator. |

| Objectives/Goals: |
The objective of
this
course is to provide re-certification training for Firearms Instructors. The Close Quarters Firearms Training class discusses techniques for preparing officers for deadly force situations that occur at close distances. The Developing Firearms Instructors class discusses the process of developing a cadre of knowledgeable and effective firearms instructors. The Firearms Fundamentals Refresher class reviews the basic mechanics of shooting a handgun. The Fighting Multiple Adversaries class discusses the need for training officers to respond to multiple subject situations involving the use of a firearm. |

Detective |

| Objectives/Goals: |
The Net Detective
module is a guided, self-directed learning tool consisting of
information that is available on the world wide web. The objective is
to permit students to actively build their knowledge and understanding
of the topics covered in this course material.
As students investigate each location, they will be given an assignment
to complete. The assignments will vary depending on the nature of the
course. For instance, students may be required to complete a site use
tutorial so that they will know how to retrieve information for future
reference, read a blog post that exposes them to a different viewpoint
on a topic, explore how other criminal justice agencies have addressed
a problem or simply build upon the informational foundation they
received in this course.
