California Firefighters Angry Over Bridge Tolls
October 1, 2008 – 5:55 amCopCAST Correspondent Sgt TC sent me this article that got the old blood boiling. Over the years, I have run into many government bureaucrats who have forgotten that their jobs exist for one reason – to serve the public. The public and the people they serve should not be viewed as an inconvenience – the constituent public are the reason for their job. So often they use the words “can’t” and “won’t” as synonymous terms.
The following story is a classic example of the bureaucratic mindset of I cannot solve this simple problem without causing myself a little inconvenience so I am not going to solve the problem.

One Response to “California Firefighters Angry Over Bridge Tolls”
I think I have a solution: Every dog has their day. Sooner or later, one of these jackasses’ homes will catch fire and the Fire Department won’t be able to respond because they don’t have any change in their turnout gear for the toll. I bet that not only gets them off of their asses, but they’ll probably sue the poor hosedragger driving the rig.
